Operations Manager – Terre des Pionniers (Sector 11)

Parc Oméga is looking for an Operations Manager with a passion for nature, customer service and managing dynamic teams. Reporting to the Director of Operations – Pioneer Lands, the incumbent will play an essential role in the smooth running of activities in this key area of the park, where visitors spend an average of 3 hours.

This area includes a variety of services: snack bar, souvenir store, creamery, farm, trails, outdoor games, wolf observatory, slide, Oniro (evening activity), sled dogs, sugar shack, and much more.

Main responsibilities

Customer service and supervision

  • Supervise employees at various points of service (store, catering, grounds, activities)
  • Supervise team leaders and make employees accountable for individual and collective objectives
  • Act as a role model for customer service and professional attitude
  • Ensure application of the customer complaint management policy

Management support

  • Replace the Operations Manager during her absences
  • Manage customer traffic at our various sites
  • Ensure smooth operations from opening to closing
  • React quickly and effectively to unforeseen events

Operations management

  • Ensure sales outlet profitability (sales monitoring, loss control, efficiency)
  • Supervise cash desk closures and ensure compliance with procedures
  • Work with teams to improve the visitor experience

Schedule :

  • 5 days including weekends and some evenings according to operational needs including vacation coverage.

Administrative tasks

  • Create and adjust schedules according to needs (day, evening, weekend, vacations)
  • Approve time sheets
  • Managing foreign exchange orders
  • Actively participate in the recruitment, selection and training of new employees in conjunction with Human Resources.

Job requirements

  • Bilingualism (French and English, spoken and written)
  • DEC in administration, production management, operations management or any combination of relevant training and experience
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar position, including team supervision
  • Assertive leadership, organizational skills and autonomy
  • Proactive approach, professional and customer-oriented attitude
  • Flexible hours – available 5 days/week including weekends and some evenings
  • Valid driver’s license (an asset for getting around the park)

Working conditions

  • Permanent full-time position
  • Schedule: 35 to 40 hours per week
  • Work mainly in the field and in direct interaction with teams and the public
