Head Waiter

Reporting to the manager of the Maison du Parc, the maître d’hôtel is responsible for welcoming guests and ensuring that dining service runs smoothly. He ensures the continuity and optimization of operations, the quality of the customer experience, and the achievement of objectives. He or she is responsible for the waitstaff, host(s), and dining room assistants.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Customer Experience Management

  • Organize the room according to business needs (reservations, groups, etc.)
  • Greet and seat customers and advisors, and encourage spending
  • Record and manage customer reservations and process payments
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by taking their needs into account, including the handling of complaints and disputes
  • Inform customers about the establishment’s activities

Floor Team Management

  • Ensure that orders and served dishes are accurate
  • Help the team develop a task plan for preparing the service

Room Management

  • Track inventory and place orders as needed

Other related tasks

  • Be available to perform any other related tasks necessary for the smooth operation of the department and the achievement of organizational objectives.

Required Skills

  • Positive leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of HACCP, MAPAQ, and MSSS standards.
  • Ability to handle pressure and maintain service quality
  • Diligence, independence, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work as part of a team.
  • Effective management of inventory and operational priorities.

Working conditions :

  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Work in direct contact with visitors.
  • Full-time permanent position (40 hours per week).
  • Hours vary depending on the season and customer traffic.
