Job description
Interested in working with wildlife and ensuring their safety? Under the supervision of the Director of Animal Health, the Range Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring that all customers are made aware of the need to comply with habitat safety rules. Compliance with these rules is essential to the safety of visitors and the well-being of our animals.
Duties and responsibilities
- Informing visitors and raising their awareness of habitat safety rules;
- Ensure that visitors comply with safety instructions;
- Observe and interpret animal movements and inform the manager of any anomalies;
- Answer visitors’ questions;
- Ensure that the site is safe by inspecting the site’s work and safety facilities and reporting any issues to the supervisor;
- Communicate park values and standards effectively and professionally by example;
- Provide support for the park’s various tasks.
Core competencies
- Speak French and English;
- Driving license required;
- Rigor and autonomy in carrying out tasks;
- Positive and benevolent application of park rules and policies;
- Impeccable customer service (welcoming, pleasant, interpersonal skills).
Working conditions
- Be available on weekends;
- Salary: $19 per hour;
- Part-time, 3 days a week;
- Permanent;
- Working as part of a team;
- Working outdoors;
